Joel opened by reminding everyone that your people strategy matters more than your tech strategy. Companies create blind spots when they chase tools without addressing how employees experience them, stopping adoption before it gains momentum. Spotting tech problems might be the first step, but creating lasting change requires aligning technology with employee needs. 

From vendor chaos to brand connection: Solving the workplace divide 

Stacy's breakout session addressed the workplace divide. Too many disconnected systems are draining budgets while frustrating employees. Her team demonstrated a smart locker integration that combined Appspace, Signifi, and Unisys, showing what happens when strategic partnerships replace tool proliferation. This approach delivers lower total cost of ownership, operational consistency, and improved employee experience, reinforcing what organizations often forget: workplace experience shapes brand perception. 

Connecting the dots 

Beyond the Unisys-led sessions, WOW 2025 explored how organizations can make workplace data useful. Sessions on IoT automation and analytics frameworks showed how real-time information about air quality, space availability and environmental conditions builds employee trust.

Hands-on labs in reservation services, information architecture and digital signage gave attendees practical skills to implement immediately.
